If you have recently travelled in a malaria-risk area, please wait six months before donating blood after returning to Finland. Travelling elsewhere in the country results in a 28-day donation deferral period.

Malaria occurs in some parts of the country (e.g. the island of Borneo), but there is no risk of malaria in places such as Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Penang, Langkawi, or the coastal resorts of the Malay Peninsula or the small islands nearby.
