World Blood Donor Day celebrated in Helsinki – event at Superterassi on 14 June

On World Blood Donor Day, 14 June, blood donors are thanked and the importance of blood donation is highlighted. This year, the day will be celebrated on Sunday, 14 June 2026, from 12:00 to 15:00 at Kasarmitori Square in Helsinki in collaboration with Superterassi. The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

Diverse programme and well-known performers

A diverse line-up of artists will take the stage. Performing are ANI, known for her powerful interpretations and energetic stage presence, and Aliisa Syrjä, who has captivated audiences with her sensitive and distinctive pop sound.

The event will be hosted in a warm and familiar style by Tuomo “Veli Koo” Kasanen. During the day, there will also be a moving speech by a patient who has received blood products.

“Superterassi brings people together to enjoy the city, culture and shared experiences. It is great that we can also provide a venue for such an important societal cause and encourage people to do good,” says Jaajo Linnonmaa, founder of Superterassi.

The event will also feature the Blood Service’s new Pisara mascot, bringing joy and a festive atmosphere to visitors of all ages.
