Summer’s favourite drink is back – get yours!
Patients need blood products all year round, including during the holiday season. You can give blood in summer too, every weekday. We offer everyone who comes to give blood a unique recovery drink, Luovutusvichy. You won’t get this anywhere else!
Luovutusvichy is a special summer drink that supports recovery after giving blood. Adequate hydration before and after donation is important, and this drink is both refreshing and a concrete thank-you to donors.
Luovutusvichy is available at all Finnish Blood Service locations. We also always offer other beverages on site. Please remember to drink enough water or juice on your donation day!
Finnish Blood Service’s Luovutusvichy is produced by Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas. Luovutusvichy is available at all blood donation sites in a limited edition, as it is a special summer product. We estimate that supplies will last until the turn of July and August.
Once during the summer – give blood
Blood products are essential year-round for example in the treatment of accident victims, premature babies and women giving birth, as well as cancer and surgical patients. Every weekday, the help of approximately 600–700 blood donors is needed, including in summer.
You can book an appointment for giving blood. You can also drop by while passing and check whether there are free slots at that moment. Usually there are!
If you are spending time at a summer cottage or travelling outside your home municipality during your holiday, find the nearest donation site on our website and come and visit a new location or a mobile session. You can give blood anywhere in Finland, regardless of your place of residence.
If you have the opportunity to give blood during working hours, encourage your colleagues to join you. Take a colleague along to give blood – even if the world isn’t finished, you can head off on holiday with a good feeling.
