Serum eye drop research
The Serum Eye Drop Research Consortium is a collaborative network focused on studying allogeneic serum eye drop therapy produced from donor serum, particularly for the treatment of severe ocular surface diseases such as dry eye disease. The consortium brings together experts in clinical research and product development from HUS Eye Clinic, research laboratories, and the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service.
The research evaluates the safety, efficacy, and patient experience of serum eye drop therapy, while also developing and characterizing the eye drop product to better understand its therapeutic mechanisms and to support further optimization. The consortium aims to generate new evidence on the effectiveness of allogeneic serum eye drop therapy, investigate the potential for improvemnts and to support its implementation as part of patient care in Finland.
