The Finnish Red Cross Blood Service aims to recruit more than 20,000 new blood donors in 2025 – a goal that can only be reached with the help of volunteers.

“Now is the perfect time to take part in this unique opportunity to donate blood while listening to the beautiful sounds of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra. We truly hope this will inspire new donors. This is an opportunity not to be missed,” says Satu Kuorelahti, the lead nurse at Lahti Blood Service.

The orchestra’s chamber ensembles will perform at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30 PM, providing a memorable musical experience for donors and visitors alike.

“When Lahti Blood Service proposed this collaboration, we were thrilled to join. If you can, extend a helping hand – donating takes just a moment, and afterward you can enjoy some well-earned coffee”, says Ilkka Uurtimo, a cellist from the Lahti Symphony Orchestra who has donated blood more than 150 times.

“I believe donating blood is one of the easiest ways to do good. There’s always a need, and the thought that you might save a life is incredibly meaningful. If I ever need a transfusion myself, I’ll be grateful to have paid it forward”, he adds.

Lahti Symphony Orchestra is internationally acclaimed for bringing music to a wide range of events. Their presence adds a special atmosphere to this meaningful cause.
