Thank you, blood donors – World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on June 14 in Helsinki

The day is dedicated to thanking voluntary blood donors, raising global awareness about the need for blood products, and encouraging new donors to join.

Blood products are used for the treatment of many different diseases. Annually, tens of thousands of patients in Finland receive the help they need from voluntarily donated blood. Patients need blood products year-round, including during holiday seasons.
