Between 1.7–30.11, a stay of more than 20 hours in Vatican City will result in a donation deferral of 28 days.

The donation deferral is due to a seasonal epidemic of the West Nile virus, and the deferral will begin from the date of return to Finland.

At other times of the year, travelling in Vatican City does not constitute a separate obstacle to donating blood.
