Over 3 000 new blood donors are needed in Tampere area this year

More new blood donors are needed, as only 3 % of people eligible to donate give blood each year. Some experienced donors also have to stop donating due to age or illness.

Last year, 2 383 people donated blood for the first time in Tampere area. Unfortunately, this is not enough. New donors are needed to ensure patient care now and in the future.

Could you be one of them? ❤️

1. Book an appointment or drop by to ask about available times at the Blood Service Tampere. 
2. Fill out the health questionnaire on the day of your donation. 
3. Once you arrive, a nurse will go through the questionnaire with you before the donation. 
4. The blood donation itself takes only about ten minutes. 
5. After donating, you can enjoy refreshments and take it easy for the rest of the day. 

Parking at Koskikeskus by Moovy parking

Donors are granted an hour’s complimentary parking by providing their care registration number or telephone number upon arrival at the Blood Service.

Claiming free parking with a phone number is only available for Moovy app users. If you are not already a Moovy app user and intend to travel to Blood Service by car, please take note of your car registration number in order to claim the free parking!

The free parking is automatically granted for an active parking period, but this option must be used within 24 hours of activation. The free parking may only be used once and is no longer valid once a parking period comes to an end. Customers parking at the Koskikeskus car park for longer than the allotted time must pay for any additional parking time at the payment point. Moovy app users will be automatically charged for additional parking time when the allotted time is exceeded.

Coming with a larger group? 

If you’re coming as a larger group, please book an individual appointment for each person. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get consecutive time slots. If you need assistance, you can call us at 029 300 1130 and we can make the reservations for you. 

Groups of at least four people receive a free taxi ride! The maximum distance is 20 km per direction, and the taxi must accept a taxi card as a payment method. Read more about the taxi service.
