Welcome to donate blood!

Donating blood is an easy and practical way to help:

• It takes only about an hour of your day.
• One donation helps up to three patients.
• You’ll always get a good feeling and a snack.
• As a first‑time donor, you’ll receive a Lifesaver bag and get to know your blood type.

Most of us can donate blood. If you are healthy, aged 18–70, and weigh at least 50 kg, start donating blood and make a difference by helping patients! ❤️

Over 700 new blood donors are needed in Lahti this year

More new blood donors are needed, as only 3 % of people eligible to donate give blood each year. Some experienced donors also have to stop donating due to age or illness.

Last year, 438 people donated blood for the first time in Lahti. Unfortunately, this is not enough. New donors are needed to ensure patient care now and in the future.

Could you be one of them? ❤️

1. Book an appointment or drop by to ask about available times at the Blood Service Lahti.
2. Fill out the health questionnaire on the day of your donation.
3. Once you arrive, a nurse will go through the questionnaire with you before the donation.
4. The blood donation itself takes only about ten minutes.
5. After donating, you can enjoy refreshments and take it easy for the rest of the day.

Park in the parking garage for free

The spacious donation premises are located at Hansakuja (near the Hansa entrance) of the Trio shopping centre. The closest access is at the corner of Kauppakatu, from the direction of Virastotalo.

As a blood donor, you will receive a customer parking ticket from our service point, which entitles you to one hour of free parking in the Hansa parking garage. You can drive your car directly into the garage, and then give your car’s registration number when you check in at the Blood Service. No other tickets or apps are needed.

How to find us

Our spacious donation facilities are located at the Hansa passage (Hansakuja) in the Trio shopping centre, near the Hansa entrance. The nearest entrance is at the corner of Kauppakatu, from the direction of Virastotalo. On the same corridor, you will also find, for example, Nordea service point and Fitness24Seven. Coming with a larger group?

If you’re coming as a larger group, please book an individual appointment for each person. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get consecutive time slots. If you need assistance, you can call us at 029 300 1240 and we can make the reservations for you.

Groups of at least four people receive a free taxi ride! The maximum distance is 20 km per direction, and the taxi must accept a taxi card as a payment method. Read more about the taxi service.
