Donating blood is an easy and practical way to help:

• It takes only about an hour of your day.
• One donation helps up to three patients.
• You’ll always get a good feeling and a snack.
• As a first‑time donor, you’ll receive a Lifesaver bag and get to know your blood type.

Most of us can donate blood. If you are healthy, aged 18–70, and weigh at least 50 kg, start donating blood and make a difference by helping patients! ❤️

Over 1 200 new blood donors are needed in Espoo this year

More new blood donors are needed, as only 3% of people eligible to donate give blood each year. Some experienced donors also have to stop donating due to age or illness.

Last year, 826 people donated blood for the first time at the Espoo donation center. Unfortunately, this is not enough. New blood donors are needed to ensure patient care now and in the future.

Could you be one of them? ❤️

1. Book an appointment or drop by to ask about available times at the Blood Service Espoo.
2. Fill out the health questionnaire on the day of your donation.
3. Once you arrive, a nurse will go through the questionnaire with you before the donation.
4. The blood donation itself takes only about ten minutes.
5. After donating, you can enjoy refreshments and take it easy for the rest of the day.

Arrival instructions

Drivers: You can park for 2 hours free of charge in the Iso Omena parking garage. In the P1 and P2 parking garages, it is recommended to leave your car on the A side, from where you can take the elevator directly to the 3rd floor. Read more about parking in Iso Omena.

Coming with a larger group?

If you’re coming as a larger group, please book an individual appointment for each person. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get consecutive time slots. If you need assistance, you can call us at +358 29 300 1040 and we can make the reservations for you.

Groups of at least four people receive a free taxi ride! The maximum distance is 20 km per direction, and the taxi must accept a taxi card as a payment method. Read more about the taxi service.
