Dear colleagues

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 23rd Nordic Blood Bank Meeting to be held from the 18th to 20th of September 2013 here in Helsinki, Finland.

Nordic Blood Bank Meetings have been organized since the 50’s. The meetings are intended for staff of blood establishments and hospital blood banks. The objectives of the meeting are networking, benchmarking of Nordic practices and enhancing collaboration among participants and Nordic blood establishments. The Nordic Meeting will also give you a good opportunity to meet old friends and colleagues.

I would like give my sincere thanks to the Organizing Committee of the Meeting for preparing the interesting program. The Organizing Committee includes a member from each Nordic Country. Currently the members are Dr Jan Säfwenverg, Dr Morten Bagge Hansen, Dr Sveinn Gudmundsson, Dr Tor Hervig and Prof Tom Krusius.

The Finnish Red Cross Blood Service will also organize a site visit and tour of the National Blood Centre in Helsinki after the Meeting.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee I am looking forward to welcoming you to Helsinki in September. I wish you a pleasant and fruitful Meeting.
